This will be the first time to place a closet flange on slab and I’m not too thrilled with the options. I’m used to using the heavy cast iron ones, two-piece design (Casper’s Industries) on wood subfloors which is a heck of allot more substantial than the weld-on ABS with the stamped metal ring. I could just see that metal ring rusting through at the T-bolt area.
Are the all-plastic ones decent? Strong enough to tighten down the toilet onto?
I was considering using the cast iron one by using plastic anchors for the securing screws, but wouldn’t they be too close to the large hole and spall the concrete?
Any help from those with experience would be appreciated!
Thanks.
