I am building a poured concrete wrap-around porch on my house. My wife is interested in either staining or coloring the concrete to add more interest to the porch. Does anyone know how to do this without having to do a custom tint job from the concrete supplier?

Staining concrete after it has set is very difficult and unpredictable. Many of the products are acid based and only available in a limited range of colors.
I suggest you contact Bon Tool Co. They offer a range of colorants that are applied in the finishing process. Some of these may even improve the quality of your project.

*Jeff:Check out http://www.acid-stain.com/ for lots of info on acid stain.Jim
*Also check out (www.decorative-concrete.net).I just had a stamped (stone type pattern) and stained (2 color acid stain - black border defined with a circular saw groove, with a grey interior) sidewalk poured on my own home. It is really stunning and unique. It only cost my $300 more that plain concrete. It is one of the nicest features of our home.
*Just recently got prompt reply and a really good sample package from these guys:http://www.superdeck.com/masonsselect/palette.htmAlso literature from Kemiko Stone Tone Stains, but no samples. Think their url is http://www.kemiko.com.Will be doing a screen porch and front porch floor before end of the month. E-mail me and I'll let you know results. Check Archives as we discussed this not too long ago.

I just did a trial with Scofield acid stain on a 30 day old pad ... I used their amber color ... It was a bit of a disappointment ... Can't tell you if the problem was the product, the concrete or me ...
I may try again on the basis that the color itself was the most disagreeable part ...
