On two jobs constructed this past summer, the contractors’ failed to continue the tile backsplash in kitchen spaces down behind slide in ranges.
I punched out the jobs and called it out, but do I really need to spell this out? The interior elevations show the ranges, but neglected to note that the tile backsplash had to continue behind the range.
I can see unfinished wall through the gap between the range unit and the adjacent cabinets/ counter.

It's not on the plans, it's not in the bid, it doesn't get paid for, it doesn't get done.

Blame the painters.
Backsplash behind the ranges?
You payin' for this job?
Very rarely have I seen, or been asked to continue the tile backsplash down behind an oven range.
That you can see the back wall between the unit and cabinets has more to do with poor cabinet layout.
Shouldn't be more than an 1/8" space to either side of the range. Unless you're using a flashlight and squinting real hard...you can't see to the back wall.

paint the wall the same color as the tiles.
