Here’s what I THINK I want to do, when I build a new house in 2
years: It will have 2 bathrooms, and I’d like to set up a central (Aldes,
probably) vent to service both. I’d like the fan to be on a timer, and run
maybe 5-10 minutes every hour, for general ventilation, but also
would like the fan to come on when light switch in either bath is
turned on, for humidity evacuation.
I’d also like to set up a well-insulated hot water loop (in crawl), whose
pump would also be activated when light switch in either bath is
turned on. (A variation on the Metlund system.)
Is this something any savvy electrician could do? From my
limited-knowledge point of view, it seems like the timer would be the
main problem; the rest is 3-way-switch stuff?
Wouldn’t mind, also, any general commentary. Unless it’s from one of
the resident smart asses. (Which just invites ’em, don’t it?)
