I’m interested in opinions about the use of composite decking as compared to Redwood
decking. How will composite hold up in a high UV environment? I’m in the S.W. desert and
UV readings in the summer average about 10 to 12 on scale where 15 is the max. Is
composite going to require the same type of yearly maintance as the Redwood as soon as
it is a year or two old and is my customer’s color choice going to be wasted because of
rapid fading? What is your best treatment to extend the life of decking and keep it looking
new year after year?
