I have one crown miter that remains to be cut to finish a job, but I can’t figure out the math. The wall turns 120º in the horizontal plane, and the ceiling angle is also 120º. I’m using 7 1/4″ crown with a 45º spring angle that I need to maintain because the crown at the top of the slope levels off and meets a curve on the horizontal plane. Any suggestions?

Ah, the old nemesis, crown turns up the cathedral ceiling. And this situation has the added kink of the bend in the wall just where we go from level to pitched.
There just ain't no way, Jose, to do it in one joint.
There are a lot of good trim carps hanging out here on Breaktime, but these tricky crown questions are best resolved over at the JLC forum, under the "trim carpentry" section. They can show you some double-joint solutions, and you'll need to make a choice.
Going from level to pitched with a bend is not a big deal. It's the second bend that's throwing me off. If you could imagine a corner of the room lopped off. Where do I find the JLC forum, BTW?
I just went there and clipped this for you. Google for Journal of Light Construction, go to the forum, find the gallery section, look for trim carpentry, and you will find a whole section on crown. See the double joint?

Thanks for your help. I'll check it out.
I did a house a few months back and faced the same dilema. I came here for info and JLC and researched the net. This is what I ended up doing. Might not be your thing but it was the best I could come up with and the HO loved it so...
gene,
Was it googl sketch you gave info on the other day?-Fortitude-
No. I posted a pic on this thread I clipped from the JLC gallery.
But I have posted a lot of Google Sketchup screencaps here on this forum. Nothing about crown cuts, though.
Take a look at Joe Fusco's web site and then get out your scientific calculator.
