Compressor and (finish) nailers packages
I don’t have any nailers or mobile compressor. I have not done that much finish work and what I have done I have hand nailed.
I am looking at a project, that if I do it, would be greatly helped with a finish nailer.
I am looking at a couple of package deals, seem to be good price wise. I realize that they are each part is not the best, but I hope is servicable.
Here is what I am looking at. Most of them have #16 finish nailer and #18 brad nailer. But I need to verify that one each one. PC, specially has about 10 different combinations of packages.
PC C2006 compressor – 6 gal pancake, 2.6 SCFM, 10 amp.
Bostitch CAP60-PF Compressor (CPACK3 package). Seems to be the same at the CAP2040-CF compressor, but with 6 gal tank.
2.1 SCFM, 6 gal pancake, 12 amp.
Dewalt Emglo D55141 compressor
2.0 SCFM, 2 gal tank, universal motor (8 amps on the lable, 10 on the website). This is a single tank in a nice small package. But it is a belt drive 2200 rpm, so that it is quieter.
Looking at the the reviews on Amazon. And discounting the weirdo reviews (the people complaining about shipping damage. Or the one that same it was perfect, but only gave it one star). It seems that all of the package where servicable, but the the PC compressor is louder.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these and can comment?
Will any of these operate a framing nailer? For things like building a closet or setting hangers for a deck (usign the Bostich 88RH/MCW nailer. In all of the case it won’t be rapid fire. Probably 3-4 nails and them scratching my head to see what goes next.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.

Bill,
I bought the PC kit over a decade ago, the stuff has always worked. Got my moneys worth. That is a loud pancake. The PC guns are decent.
The trouble is that the PC now is the same as it was then...no improvements made.
The Dewalt/Emglo is lighter, quieter, has two output couplers, compact, and more ruggedly designed. The guns seem nicer too (though I have not used them).
I would lean towards the Dewalt kit.
Edit to add: They will both do occasional framing just fine.

Thanks. I agree that the Dewalt looks like it is built real nice and compact..

No experience on any of those models listed but the pancake should run the framer easily as long as the pressure is there. My pancake will handle moderate framing jobs but it can only handle one gun at a time. To run more than that I need my twin tank.
Saw a package deal at bLowes the other day of a Bostich pancake & 3 finish guns. Have you seen that? I don't know any of the model numbers though.
Yes, that the the Bostitch package that I was looking at. It includes a narrow crown stappler. One of the HD has a PC kit that also includes a narrow crown stappler uppostery stappler on the clearance table. But no price marked..

Go for the Bostich.
I had the PC finish nail and it didn't work out very well after the second drive pin broke.
I returned it for a Bostich. No problems since.
All of the pancakes are noisy. I have a 3 gal and can run a framer off it for remodeling purposes.

Something to think about on the kits. They usually include the standard 16 gauge nailer, but the other guns are the ones have the shorter fastener capacity. Most of the 18s included only go up to 1 1/4 inch and the stapler is only 1 inch. Just make sure the fastener length will work ok with your needs.
Don't have any empirical experience with the Bostitch products, but between the Dewalt and the P.C. ...
The P.C. guns will be quite a bit more reliable than the dewalt. (I have had a few friends who bought dewalt finish guns and returned them, disgusted for one reason or another.) But the P.C compressor is THE FRIGGEN LOUDEST COMPRESSOR YOU WILL EVER ENCOUNTER!!!!!! Seriously, it's like having an old lawn mower sitting there next to you in the house, only louder.
If you can keep it inside and just run a hose into the workspace, it can be bearable. (or at least only annoying for the people outside...lol).
I realize that you really do get a nice price break by going with one of the kits, and it seems like you are trying to use this price break to justify the purchase because you don't really see an extended need for the guns after this particular job, but in a perfect world, you should be able to buy a decent compressor and decent guns, and not be forced, due to price, into buying such a horrible compressor just to get a decent gun for a nice price.
Maybe somebody has something nice to say about the Bostitch kit.....
I've used the PC compressor and guns. The guns work. The compressor . . . I agree on loud. Thats an understatement. Annoying loud. The guns actually worked better than I assumed they would. They were a buddys on a shared job - we both trimmed a mcmansion together.
For guns I'm pretty sold on Senco, but even they have succumbed a little to the Wal Mart world of cheaper. If you look at a Senco, look at a dealer, not the stuff they make for the mass market.
No experience with yellow
The little senco compressors are awful light and quiet. Quantum leap from ten years ago. Almost charming little buggers that work, if you can deal with a compressor that small. Really only worthwhile for punch work.
I have a meduim sized Interchange brand compressor that is really the one I tend to use for everything. Its probably comparable in size, weight, function to a Rol-air. Built like a tank. So it has lasted through everything, but its hefty for as small as it is.
I've tried a couple of Bostitch guns and wasnt ever happy for very long. I think I might have gotten more than a year out of one of them. Both my Senco framer and finish guns are probably over a decade now. Never even had to rebuild anything on them, though it probably wouldnt hurt on the frame gun. If it ever goes TU, I'm getting a Max.
Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
I had a PC brad nailer-The depth of drive broke... The compressor is loud, and its an oil-less unit. I prefer the oil bath designs. The Dewalt will give you a better compressor if its an oil bath design. This compressor will support a framing gun better as well, being a twinstack, as opposed to a pancake, But there is a substantial weight difference.
I own a Campbell Hausfeld Twinstack, and it is not fun to lug around, but it was 149 dollars on Amazon, and its a great compressor for my occassional needs.

I HAVE A PC PACKAGE CAME WITH A 16G, 18G AND A STAPLER ALL THE GUNS TAKE VARIOUS SIZES THE COMPRESSOR IS 2HP 6GAL AND HAS 2 COUPLERS SO I CAN RUN 2 FINISH OR STAPLERS AT THE SAME TIME OR MY PC FRAMER FOR LIGHT FRAMING JOBS. AS TO THE NOISE I TRY TO HAVE THE COMPRESSOR OUTSIDE & USE LONGER HOSES WORKS GREAT EXCEPT ON RAINY DAYS. DUH
