Can anyone provide some guidance on how to effectively seal a concrete porch/balcony? This porch/balcony has no roof and is also the ceiling in a section of the basement. This is a cold climate and it also has standing water at times. The customer said that she and her family re-coated it with a “waterproofing” paint every year for the last 30 years. The puddle in the basement has enough algae in it to suggest that it is never gone. Thanks.

*Duradek & it now has a 10 year warranty.
*Rob - Do you have any info regarding the fire resistence of Duradeck? When the sun has been shining on it, how hot does it feel to bare feet in comparison to colored concrete (medium tone)? Do you know where a person can get a sample large enough to lay out a few sq feet for a test? Thanks.
*We are also constructing decks with storage or living space below. Does anyone have experience using Dibiten as a concrete underlayment? Dibiten would be applied to T&G plywood decking, following all the mfg specifications. We need a fire resistent surface because we live in an area with wildland fire danger.
*Arleen,For the fire rating contact Duadek @ http://www.Duradek.com.It heats up in the sun but I don't know if it gets as warm as concrete. I do know it will cool quiker when over a plywood substrate.
