I am faced with the daunting task of 1. removing a huge piece of concrete and 2. replacing a sill. The second part is the easy one. I read somewhere, or saw on the boob tube a product that will break up concrete. Does anyone know what it is or how well it works? I believe that one would drill a series of holes and pour this product into them, then it would expand and break up the concrete or cause significant spalling. My option is to rent a jackhammer and go to town. The concrete step is 5 feet by 5 feet by at least 30 inches deep. Another solution will also be considered.
All information or opinions appreciated.

Trust in God, but row away from the rocks.
Thanks Mike,
I will check it out
Wow a response to a post I made over two years ago. glad someone is listening. ; ^ ) Mike
Small wheel turn by the fire and rod, big wheel turn by the grace of god.
I used Betonamit some years back, and it works quite well in situations where a jackhammer may be impractical. However, I would look to a jackhammer as your first choice for speed and economy.
do you wish to use plan "A" or plan "B"
Mr T has plan "A"...
Plan "B" is a bit more radical...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
There is such a product. I read about it in the last 9 months or so. If it wasn't in Fine Homebuilding, then it was probably in Journal of Light Construction because those are the only two magazines I read frequently. I'm sorry I can't remember the name. But keep Googling, it's out there.
Are you sure this thing is 30" thick?
Sometimes they put fill in there so that all you have is basically a 4" shell of concrete around your landing.
I've done the same thing when I've formed and poured concrete ramps and landings.
I agree w/ freestate. Just bust a move on it w/ a jackhammer and sledge.
Just a thought. Dave
