   While trying to get a new remodeling business off the graound,I work in a bar which has a concrete top. Believe it or not the mason that poured the bar used an industrial stength water based floor wax. About every 6-10 weeks, I take a green scrub pad and take off the gloss and reapply the wax- thinned with H2O. It does take a bit of maintenance, but gradually the wax builds up and you can space out the applications. The finish looks good, not too glossy , but still shiny and clean. Also it is easy to wipe up.

   *Thanks for the reply. I've experimented with floor wax and found it works well. I'm not too psyched about the continuous maintenance but I'm finding that may be what it takes to enjoy concrete counter tops. I've heard of wax being applied over another sealer. Is wax all your bar top has on it or is there a base sealer? Thanks again,

   What kind of sealer/finish to use on
   concrete countertops? Even though the
   current headliner on this site is
   concrete countertops there is still no
   solid information here about this. I've
   done a few and experimented with
   different products, asked several who
   have done it themselves and asked
   concrete experts and nobody seems to
   have a difinitive answer. Maybe someone
   out there can help me. Will you be the
   one to enlighten me about a product I
   haven't
