I own a three story apartment building that has iron and concrete porch/stairway at the back. It appears the concrete is laid over some kind hollow masonary block to form the deck. The ceiling of the floor below is formed by finishing the underside of the block with some kind of cementous product. This buiding was built in the 1920’s. The problem is that the concrete deck is cracked in several places which allows water below the surface and causes the ceiling to fail below. I am sure I can repair the concrete easily enough, but I am unsure how and with what to repair the ceiling below. I have tried to repair small holes with concrete or with gyp but whatever I use just falls out. Thanks in advance for the help.
