I don't really follow you. Can you tell us more, a little more carefully?
Gets to -40F (that's -40C for you Canadians) up here and my garage door NEVER freezes to the slab.
Radiant floor heat in the garage.
Inside, the floor is sloped to a drain for the snow melt. Which melts fast with the heat coming from underneth. And the residue evaporates quickly.
Now, how to keep out the road grit and sand that come with snow?
The usual way in these parts (southern NJ) is a 1"to 2" step down from the slab. Also seen but not frequently, slab is even across the bottom of the door, 3/4" galvanized pipe anchored into slab directly under door bottom. Pipe is exposed above slab about 1/2". This acts as a rain seal and does work well. One disadvantage to this method is the garage door should be installed before the slab is poured. Otherwise correct alignment is difficult. The pipe below the slab has 1/4x20 bolts tapped into the bottom at 12" centers, this acts as an anchor bolt. This takes about 20 minutes or less to prepare the pipe. This method is used rarely anymore from my expierence.
