We are remodeling a house that has a cracked and heaved driveway. What options do we have other than tearing out the driveway and installing a new concrete driveway? Any and all options such as asphalt will be considered.

If it's cracked and heaved, you're probably going to want to tear it out, no matter what kind of driveway you end up picking. Nothing you can put on top of it will keep it from continuing to crack and heave.
Cracking indicates poorly compacted bearing and/or improperly designed joints. Heaving suggests inadequately drained bearing.
Besides concrete and asphalt, other options include brick or stone pavers, gravel, water permeable paving, and probably lots of others I didn't think of. To make a recommendation, we'd have to know where you live, for things like frost depth, rainfall, snow removal requirements, etc., as well as size, slope, nearby trees, and anything else that might be relevant.
