I’m attaching a boat dock to a concrete seawall and need to bolt a seawall bracket to the concrete. Question is: what type of concrete anchor is likely to give me the strongest, and longest lasting attachment?
I assume that I’ll have to drill a couple of holes – anyone ever used one of the “star” bits that you whack with a hammer?

Dave,
Whoa!! "Star" bits you whack with a hammer? It'll take you a while. Go and hire a masonry drill. If your seawall is at the seaside you may need to consider stainless fasteners. I'd be using one of the epoxy systems to fasten with.
*I'll second the epoxy and stainless, and rent the biggest rotary hammer you can handle.Be careful with it around the water too.
*MarkWhere is the best place to buy the stainless-epoxy fasteners? Does Home Depot have these? What size do you suggest for holding a door jamb against a concrete wall.?
*You probably will need to buy the components seperately but most likely at the same place. They may both be available at a good contractor's supply. If not the epoxy will be. Stainless all-thread can be purchased at a full service fastener supply which may have the epoxy as well.
*I went to a marine supply to pick up some of West System epoxy folks here have raved about and saw all kinds of neat stuff mistakenly labeled "boat" when its construction applications were obvious... Everything in stainless, and of grades higher than 304. These people are really neurotic about corrosion. Check it out.
*West marine actually has catalogs & stores with all the neat corrosion resistant stuff. Look for a fastener distributor or commercial hardware store also. As for fastening door jambs to concrete I use tapcons (masonary screws). I've been curios about using them at the cottage (lake erie) but we haven't repaired the old deck yet , let alone extend to the water. as for the drill, a neumatic is the way to go in the water.
