I am setting some posts for a small pole building. they will be set in 24″ deep holes. the temp here in eastern washington is in the 20’s at night and the upper 40’s during the day. how long should i let the posts set before i start framing to them? thanx

Throw some insulated blankets over them at night and the freezing won't hurt.
If you dig the hole and set them immediately, no problems. but if you dig the hole and let the borttom frost up, too bad. You wioll need to wait for spring to build.
The idea is that when the soil freezes, the tilth is changed, and theere is no way to return it to the normal compaction while it is frozen and crystaline
