I’m trying to pour an on slab concrete basement floor that has been dirt for years and has several items (heater, oil tank etc) already set “to low” for a proper amount of gravel and a 4″ pour. I was looking for some experience on minimum amounts of gravel and slab thickness (with reinforcements added if needed) or alternate approaches to complete this job. The heater and oil tank are on local slabs. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Since it's a dirt floor, why not just dig it out to the proper depth?

four inches minimum if no weight, any where there is a wall dig a little footer to thicker concrete. if weighted go with five.
If the furnace and tank are on their own slabs, you may want to isolate them from this pour. Dig out the dirt around those slabs and lower the rest to a depth that will give you a comfortable head room and then some. Allow for at least 4 inches of granular material, (well compacted.) at least 4 inches of concrete over a vb and add a some fibre to the mix.
