I’m looking at job which involves finishing part of a small cold storage area (approx. 15′ x 5′). The basement is already finished. I’m going to be finishing part of the cold storage area. Here’s the problem: the exisiting ceiling is steel panels which supports the front porch (a concrete slab). There is a tremendous amount of condensation. Will heating this area elimate the condensation? Does the cold cellar need to be vented? I’m planning on sealing the concrete floor because of ceramic tile installation, and will apply waterproofing and vapor barrier to the concrete block before framing.
