Where’s the best source for construction contracts and forms. I think I’ve looked everywhere on the internet. You’d think Maryland would have a simple contract in their book or on their website……but that would be too easy. Any ideas?

i was asking this question last week myself. no response so i called a lawyer who has done other work for us. he said the state bar association here in nc has developed a standard contract to purchase with addendums for various situations, one of which is new home construction. maybe your state has something similiar.
Of course, you can always use the AIA Owner-Contractor agreements <G, D, & R >

I had the same question a while back. I've discovered that a lot of the guys here use their own contracts. My large form contract is morphed from the contents of my former contract, that of 3 other breaktime contributors, and some verbage thrown in by my lawyer brother. I'm always interested in making it a better, shorter and more clear form.
I'm super busy putting together a contract today, but if you can wait a few days and are interested, I can email it to you, since these guys were so generous to do so for me. Let me know.

We purchased a document sampler from the AGC for $50, and then purchased the various forms and contracts we wanted. In California their website is http://www.agc.ca.org.

I think this has been suggested before about a thousand times but try the Contractor's Legal Kit by Gary Ransone, available through taunton or anywhere.
While I have not had it reviewed by an attorney that I hired, I have used it on jobs that I have done for attorneys. Although I have modified it a bit, the attorneys have told me it was the best contract they have seen from a contractor.
I had one attorney go through it word by word for three hours, and she found very minor flaws in it. Alot of its common sense stuff. I have yet to see a more detailed contract for construction work. You'll think of things to add that might work better for you.Tom
Jocobe, there is no such thing as a simple contract. They all have very significant implications.

Jocobe and Harvestbuild. I'll email you the contracts I and my son use. You can modify them if you want for your own operation.

Apparently I can't send an attachment to you guys using FHB's current setup. Email me and I'll "Reply" with them.
