Well, I’ve finally worn out my little Ryobi ( it took eight years) and I’d like to get the best contractor’s saw out there. Ridgid has that nice collapsable haul-around, and Powermatic has the great fence. Sears? Delta? Makita? Bosch? I need power, portability, and a large table… price is not problematic. Thank you in advance for any help making my decision.

I have the Bosch, in addition to a $100 no-name I bought 5 years ago. The Bosch is big, heavy, and accurate. And when I know I'll be ripping stuff less than 12", (2x not included) the Bosch stays in the truck and I bring along the smaller saw just because it is easier than pulling out big blue, setting it up, and restoring it.
I think if I had to buy a new saw, it would be a Makita with the Rousseau (spelling?) setup. I've seen a few of those and they look to be practical without having the mass of a small locomotive.
Yeah, the Makita and Rousseau works real well. Easy setup and great while I'm using it
