I am tying a new building into an old one and I am concerned that any movement in the new one will cause a crack in the stucco at the tie in. My stucco sub-contractor said there is a 2 piece expansion or control joint that is set either side of the tie-in that interlocks, but he has no idea what it’s called or where to get it. Any ideas?.

Any good stucco supply house will have expansion and control joints. You don't necessarily need anything with two pieces- just a mud-in expansion joint will be fine- it's meant to move (within reason).

Bob,
If he is worried about vertical movement, (I would be,) he should use a 2-piece Joint.
