I own a regular wood frame ranch style home with brick exterior. This home is built on a concrete block foundation comprising approximately 40% crawlspace and 60% full basement. I would like to know if it is possible to convert the crawlspace portion of the foundation into a full basement. Are there known techniques/procedures that can be used to accomplish this objective? Can this type of work be done without undue disturbance to the portion of the house atop the crawl space? What are the cost implications? (ie. cost/benefit evaluation) What sort of complications may arise given that the house has a brick exterior? I appreciate any advice and information you can provide on this topic. Thanks in advance.
