Have you seen any corded impact drivers around? I just finished helping build a theater set, using a borrowed battery one, and I love it. But I don’t use them enough to make batteries useful. (I am referring to the 1/4 hex drive thing, not an impact wrench–just to be clear.)

I'm thinking that one of the mfgrs had a corded insert for their cordless tools.
Makita makes one. Look at http://www.toolbarn.com. They have it there.

Edit: Model no. is 6952. Looks like a great tool. Among those who have used/owned it, it gets raves.

Never ordered anything thru them but makes me wonder about a site that advertises the Bosch radio/CD player as retailing at $999.00 but you can get yours thru them at a mere $217.15.

Rez,I ordered a full set of the Makita Li-on from ToolBarn 3 months ago. They cheerfully matched the best price I found and I received the tools a day before I thought I would.Perfectly happy with them and I'd recommend them to you.Best,
