Anyone know of a high speed cordless drill? I’m looking to drive a 3/16″ bit no bigger.

Why do you want high speed?
I'm talking around 2500,3000 rpm. Better speed for that size of drill bit. Most cordless are about 1700 rpm.
Why do you need such high speed? But if you do want high speed, my Panasonic spins pretty fast in high gear. Don't know what the rating is, though.

I always get a better hole with the corded drill running at 3000 rpm. Cordless is 1700 rpm. Not looking to drive screws just drill "small" holes.
Can't speak for him but the Kreg products call for a drill faster than most cordless tools can provide.
You can get an adapter to go from the 1/4" quick connect to a chuck to use an impact but for most bits there would be considerable wobble potential. Probably not an issue with Kreg jig other than potential wear on jig or bit.
The DW 18v DC920 claims 2000rpm by the way.For those who have fought for it Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.
I've found my Makita impact at 14.4 vlts spins an 1/8 bit for pop rivets faster than any other drill own. Works Sweet.
Next fastest is my air drill, followed by an ancient sears 1/4" corded drill..they don't have much guts, but have high rpms.

The only thing High speed about my Dewalts is how fast the batterries go dead or just go bad.
Ain't that the truth. I wouldn't buy another Dewalt battery powered tool for any price.
After you've tried the Makita or Panasonic, you will see the huge difference!
I read somewhere that a person used a drywall gun for putting in particular screws. Apparently the high speed of the drywall gun worked much better that a normal drill.

My 14.4 Dewalt (!!!) impact spins pretty damn fast, definitely faster than my 18v DW drill.
Four speeds, 3800 RPM, Lithium Ion, but not available here.

I think there's some kind of connection there.
Why does my processor whimper when I open that link?
Yeah, and if you dig a little deeper, words like Centrotec and Systainer show up.So the question is, are they any cheaper?AitchKay
