the cabinets have been installed and now for the countertop. we are going to use ceramic tiles for the counter and the cabinet provider we used suggested 3/4″ plywood with 3/8″ durarock as an underlayment for the tiles which are about 3/8″. this seems like overkill to me. the countertop i removed originally was 3/4″ plywood with no durarock and it held those tiles for 20 years with no problem. i’m most concerned with finished height since many in this family are shorter folks. thanks in advance, have a good weekend.
