cultured stone scratch coat dilemma
Michigan weather can be troublesome, the cement scratch cote did not set up, it’s crumbling and soft.
I applied a scratch coat to the metal lathe, the day started out at 60 F, I covered 150 square feet. For the next two days it rained and the temperature dropped into the 30’s overnight.
I don’t know what to do with this scratch coat. It appears to be too soft and it can be rubbed into dust. Can I reapply another coat or does the bad coat have to come off. I thought about using a pressure washer to blast it off as much as possible to reveal the mesh again.
Help 🙁

Don't just reapply. Don't know the size of the space, but a wire brush could also clean the crappy stuff off.
Yeah, Michigan sucks when it comes to weather.
I usually add another 5% to winter and early spring jobs to provide for uncooperative weather. Also have a "RD+x" clause in my job schedules to provide a cushion for "Rainy Delay".
good luck on the ReDo of the scratch coat.
