Hook knife for acrylics.
foobytor,
This is the link for the freud 10" X 80 tooth plexiglass blade that I use. Just over 80$ in 2002 - but worth it. Use a zero clearance throat plate in your table saw. I've used this blade, with good results, on thin Russian birch ply too.
Wear good safety glasses!

How many/size pieces? Production or a couple of pieces. I have uses the scoring blade and snapped. Believe you can cut it in the big cutters they use for glass. I have used special jig saw blades with success.

On the table saw just like crosscutting wood but keep the cut cool, melting is the biggest problem if the blade is blunt. Polish the edges on a hard buffing wheel with some polish.
I've cut a bunch of Lexan panels by reversing a standard combination blade on the table saw. It melts almost as much as it cuts, but the result was pretty clean with no chipping and cleaned up easily with a file.
I use a router with a HSS bit. It makes a very smooth cut and does not crack or chip the plastic. I clamp on a straight edge for a straight cut. You can use guides and jigs for other cuts.
thanks all. . three 2'x4' sheets. rip down to 22, cross cut 2 to 3'.
table saw will do fine. I will try one cut shy of the line to make sure.
a fibered cement blade works well.....basically melts as you go though the sheet then come back and clean up with file or utility knife.
Leave protective film on until after you cut sheet.
also if you need to drill hole.....don't use a drill or if you do run drill in reverse so it melts, will chip if run forward. Have also used soldering iron succesfully but is slower and leaves a crumby smell in the air that probably isn't too good to breathe.
I used this around a deck project where customer wanted wind effects from lake (15 miles long and 3 miles wide) 4 x 8 sheets cut down to 3 x 6 then screwed to deck spindles. Deck was 40 x24.
Just let the tool do the work
