Dad to the rescue

dedubya | Posted in Help/Work Wanted on August 11, 2006 05:38am

Contractor bailed out of contract, took downpayment

wasted it and run. The project is a front porch addition

I think its going to be a quasi-modified timberframe roof ?

approx. 9’x12′, well anyway the thing is in charlotte n.c.,

I mean right in the city, I am going down there the weekend

of 8/18 thru 8/20 to complete the masonry phase of the

project. We are looking for someone to give us est. for the

columns and roof if interested shoot me a email,  “WARNING”

this is my daughter so I will be over protective. I figure what has

been stated before, if you are a reader of F.B. you have already

a step up on the competition. Thanks D.W.

    1. What's the point of your post?

    2. Why did you post in the "Help Wanted Work wanted" section?

No I haven't.  But I've wanted to for quite awhile.  My wife is a movie nut and I'm not really.  So if I'm up for a movie she usually gets to pick.  Unfortunately she's not too big on Rob Zombie and gets kinda nervous when I start listening to him too loud.  She's probably not out of line in feeling that way either.View Image

welp this is the update on the above prodject. I have been

traveling the 200 miles to my daughters house to pour concrete

,lay block, then lay rock veneer on the columns, steps and sidewalk

, just about finished with all the masonry part.

She didnt get any contractors as of yet, three guys said

they would start within the last 2 weeks but nouthing has

happened, I have had at least 30 people stop by and talk

to me while I was working down there ,27 of them have been

{taken} in one form or the other within the past 2 years in jobs

ranging from 18,000.00 to 100,000.00 additions and remodels.

what is the matter with our profession, in the past i wasnt legitt

either but I can say I never screwed anybody heck ,I even paid taxes

and such on that income that I earned. well anyway if the other

guys dontstart withinn the next  2 weeks I,m going to be posting

a lot of questions as I would like to get this thing finished before

my girl and future s.i.l. get married in Oct.. thanks DW
