What are the most popular built-ins (possibilities) for decks in your area? Do you sell them as additional items from the original contract or are they included in the original contract price? Anyone doing outdoor showers? What do built-ins add price wise & profit wise to the over all deck cost? What have you used to help with the sales of built-ins (web sites, marketing brochure, magazines, ect…) Have you seen a trend in your area towads people wanting more outdoor living space? What are your thoughts on this subject.

Benches, planters, freestanding roofs (either rain cover or pergolas)... my own push is to add curves. I love curves in wood (and I love it when people pay me to trick out their decks!)
Normally, they're part of the original contract. I try to steer clear of change orders. I like to have the project finalized when I begin working on it.
They're good for the bottom line. People are willing to pay more for them because they bring the value of the deck up. I like them 'cause my pictures look nicer!
I tricked out a pergola for the spring Home Show here and that was my advertising for the year.
Why the questions? Are you a HO looking to realize the full potential of your deck? I see you're new here, welcome to Breaktime. What part of the country are you in?
