Is the post angled to brace the deck?. I would do new. If not. get something like that flex seal. It gets rolled or brush on when dried it it forms a seal.
Thanks. Decided to soak with Ethylene Glycol (antifreeze) and provide shade to prevent further water soaking the joint from the deck.
