I thoroughly enjoy the Breaktime section of FHB, and truly appreciate the wealth of knowledge displayed. After 21 years in the Navy, I now “play at” painting and carpentry, so I have a basic handle on things in the home construction industry. My question for any and all who can help is very simple. I’m planning to replace my 20+ year-old 2x6PT decking with a synthetic product. TREX and ChoiceDeck are two that come to mind, although I know there are others. The deck is above ground, 10’x46′, and is on the north side of my house. (I live in NW Florida, if that has any bearing on the product.) I would appreciate any advice/recommendations based on your own experiences with respect to ease of installation/durability/paintability, etc., that you can offer. Thanks .
