I have built a five sided deck(24’x16′) on the back of my house. My intention is to build a wrap around set of stairs. The yard slopes away and therefore the height of the deck at the house is only 14″ above the ground. At 16′ away the deck is 32″ above terra firma. Does any body have any good ideas on how to construct/attach these wrap around stairs? All I can think of is to build box upon box upon box and set it on a bed of gravel.

well 32" of drop sounds like a perfect 8 & 10 set of steps 8" rise over 10" run.But that puts your last step at 30" away from the deck & you said your yard slopes what is the drop at 30" away , if it's fairly flat that's an easy set to make.
That is if I'm gathering your info correctly

The yard slopes maybe 4" in that span.
well here is some quick rules for stair stringers http://www.altereagle.com/Barn_deck_stai.html
You should be able to build a 4 step stringer on a 8 x 10 basis, this will give you an 8" riser with a 10" tread. Or a 5 step with 7" risers.
If you have a pic or a simple drawing with some dimensions it makes it easier to figure out how to attach the steps & it cuts down on a lot the <how your deck is constructed type questions>
