My trusty Milwaukee Deep Well Hole Saw Set has a nice 2 and1/2″ deep well saw blade, which is perfect for 2″ Vents. The thing is duller than c*rp, and so I go down to my local dealer. Guess what? Milwuakee no longer makes the deep well version of its blades. By deep, I mean the ability to saw through 2 x stock, e.g., 1 and 5/8″ minimum. Neither GreenLee, Vermont American, nor DeWalt have the deepwells either. All less than 1 and 1/2.
Checked out the orange box, and all they had was BluMol, but these but were without a mandrel e.g., one piece, which makes getting out the little devils a pain in the sit down. Used it once, the waste of course got stuck, and I spent the next 30 minutes trying to get it out of the bit. Ultimately threw it away, and went back to self feeding bits, but they can dangerous if you hit a knot, my saw may break your wrist.
Does anyone have a source for deep well hole saws?
