We have experienced massive (100 +) failure of Andersen HP windows manufactured in 1992. I understand this was a widespread problem for Andersen both in 1991 and 1992. Andersen is willing to replace the defective windows (but not the 14 additional that at this time do not appear defective) but I realize there will be related costs and nuisance problems. Has anyone had this same experience and what should Andersen logically cover on this massive boo-boo?

jeanine..
did i read that right ? 100 + windows
and 14 more ..?
what is the nature of the defect.. seal failure ?
*Our Four Seasons sun room (built in '90) had roughly 8 windows replaced under warranty due to seal failure; then, by '99 all the rest of windows were dying, so I approached Four Seasons and discovered they had a special warranty plan to replace all of the windows for about 1/2 price - still cost close to $30K; what a drag.
*$30,000 to replace windows at half price? That means you had 60,000 in windows? That's one BIG sunroom! Either that or I need to work for you; I've got this lovely little deck I can build for you for only $25,000 you see...
*roughly 30'x11', 12' high at the peak, glass on three sides and the roof, oh, and curved glass.
*Had problems with a bay window set installed in 1990. Expensive, and still need to resolve this. The casements on the side cannot be operated, and there is air movement through the gaps.Does 1990 count?
