I’d put this in the tool section but the add discussion button isn’t there for me.
Buddy of mine is looking to buy this saw. He doesn’t do the internet. I am looking for any information or opinions to pass on to him. I have my own opinion of course.
Thanks Scott

*I bought two sliders this summer and neither of them was a sidekick. Dewalt 12" and Makita ls1013- both tilt right and left.Dewalt saw is good- I gave it to my Dad.Makita saw has an honored place in the tool trailer. The sidekick costs less for good reason- but it works okay for exterior work-
*I was forced to use the companies Sidekick on a large apatment building restore. I found that the handle, which is horizontally positioned, is poorly situated so the saw cuts an inadvertant bevel. Not very accurate. The saw I used also had a blade guard which stuck so bad that you had to lift it with your thumb before the blade would descend on the work. The DeWalt 12" slider is smooth as butter! The Mak 10" is nice and accurate but I prefer a higher fence.Use the Delta for vinyl siding.Twaddle
*The Sidekick has a poorly placed horizontilly positioned handl ewhich seems to almost bend the blade into an inadvertant bevel. I haven't had much luck with maaking accurate cuts with the one I used. The blade guard on the saw my company owns also sticks to the point where you have to manually lift it up with your thumb before the blade wwill descend on the work. The DeWalt 12" slider is SMOOTH. Mak's 10" is nice but the fence is to low for my taste.Twaddle
*I have the 10" compound delta (non-slider), and after about 4 years of casual use it will no longer cut consistently enough to do interior trim. The large cast pivot for the bevel broke about the 3rd use. Delta service was great, and I got a new piece overnight, no cost. But regardless of the service dept., there are better tools out there for the money. I will never buy another delta product. Ever.wedge
