Gotta say, tearing off old 3ply 1/2″ roof sheathing and it is a breeze with a denailer. My wife saw me working on a huge pile of reclaimed and struggling with the nail removal. She (not handy) researched and surprised me with an Air Locker version. I was thankful but already done with that project and so it sat for a year collecting dust in the shop. Fast forward to this week’s reroof, preceded by removing sheathing, reinsulating the cathedral ceiling from above, and resheathing (yeah, great timing when the 1/2″ 5 ply CDX is $64 a sheet). The denailer makes this a breeze. Find each nail head, 2-3 pulls of the trigger, and the nail is embedded into the rafter. Do them all and the sheathing lifts up with no struggle. I’m amazed.
