OK, So I read the thread a week or two ago about the DensArmor Plus, and thought all you guys were momma’s boys, exaggerating and whining about the problems you were having with it.
Well, I’ve spent the last 2 days working with it, and I now bow to your wisdom. That stuff s*ucks.
The face is itchier than fiberglass insulation, it doesn’t snap cleanly, the edges seem real fragile, screws seem to pull right thru the face, etc, etc.
I still think it’s the right application for it, in a damp lower level (family room and bathroom) of a split level that has occasional flooding. So it should help with any mold/mildew problems.
But it is more of a pain to work with than regular sheetrock. Gotta be more careful with the handling, cutting, and fastening of it.
Other than that, it’s great. <G>

Anyone out there?
Or don't ya want to think about this stuff anymore?
Buy a dimpler, a real adjustable dimpler and adjust it. We use panel adhesive to ease my mind because even with care we have a few deep screws.Plan your cuts to avoid having to snap less than 4". We use DAP in showers (under Kerdi) so anything not covered by tile is skim coated.

I was using a dimpler today, and that seemed to work better than my drywall gun. But the setting is very finicky- just a little off, and the screws are below the surface.
Using panel adhesive is a good idea- I'm going to pick up a few tubes tomorrow.
They're building a Home Depot right next to the Holland Tunnel, I forgot to bring my binos to check out what the guys using to hang the sheets of DAP on the outside.I suppose I could stop and ask but, most mornings getting through the tube is all that's on my mind.

That's OK.
Its not a real good idea to takes your eyes off the road anywhere. Around the Holland Tunnel could be a life shortening experience.
Besides, who knows what might happen if the Port Authority people see you looking thru binocs. You might spend some quality time with Homeland Security.
I hope it is on the Jersey side of the tunnel.
