Here’s the situation. Real stucco, not EIFS, over 2x furring applied over sheathing, sheathing flush to concrete foundation wall below, furring and stucco continues down foundation wall to just below finished grade. Can someone advise the detail here, at the “base” of the stucco? I am presuming that pressure treated lumber is used for the furring here, but is some sort of flashing or barrier placed under the termination? Any sealants? Drainage?

For a 'situation' already done or soon to be done ?
*It's only a hallucination now. Should be built this fall.
*Don't forget about insects, and keeping them out. The little white ones (termites) build "tunnels".
*There are now companies that specialize in horizontal cutting of stucco that was placed to be below grade. Seems that no matter how well the material was applied, the termites found a way to tunnel in and up into the sheathing and framing and pig out. Bottom line, at least in my experience, is to keep the stucco line up just as you would conventional wood siding.
