I am designing a deck from commercially available pressure treated lumber and need to figure out the joist & girder sizes. The problem is that I’m not sure what values to use. The label on the lumber says “Y/P #2”.
I’m assuming that means Yellow Pine but I’m not sure what group it belongs to.
My table lists the following groups: Douglas Fir-Larch, Douglas Fir-Larch (North), Douglas Fir-SouthHem-Fir, Mixed Southern Pine, Southern Pine, Northern Species, Spruce-Pine-Fir, Spruce-Pine-Fir South, Western Woods
The “Architectural Graphic Standards” also does not call out Yellow Pine individually.
This is pretty basic information but I have not been able to find it, I would appreciate some help.
