or so a blowhard on the job today tried to tell me. I was planning on upgrading my current 18 volt setup with the 36volt, but now I’m a little gun-shy. Anybody have ’em ? Like ’em ? not like em?

You will need gorilla forearms to lift them.... I played with a few of them at the local blowes, and although they have impressive power, I was pretty excited to put them down! I am thinking the makita LiON stuff is in my future. I had the DeWalt XRP 18 volt kit, and I do miss the cordless recip and circ saw, the drill just was never that great, and the saw seemed to tucker out very quickly.
The DeWalt 36 V is like an elephant next to the flea that is the Milwaukee V28....that's not a mistake, it's rustic
Went to a tool demo @KMS tools today and talked to the DeWalt rep. He told me the 36Volt tools are suppose to replace corded tools, not their cordless ones. Also he told me they are coming out with 18Volt Lithium Ion batteries in about 6 months.

Are them batts gonna fit the old tools or do I have to plan on getting new stuff?

Hi Phil
I couldn't make it this year, I had to finish some drywalling this weekend.
I was a bit disappointed of last years show so I didn't even try to make time for it. I went to the show in Puyallup last May and it was much better than the Cloverdale show.
Are you going to the JLC Live in Seattle?Martin
Wait and get an Li Io set up. Will knock your socks off with the power to weigt ratio.
I got the 36v lineup; drill, circ. saw and recip.saw. Not too fond of using the drill on an everyday basis, too bulky for my tastes, but it does pack a punch when you need it.
The circ. saw and the recip. saw I would highly recommend. This is only my opinion, but I can't give dewalt enough praise for these two 36v tools. I use them nearly everyday, and have cut through some big treated 6x6's without even a hiccup.

I have the drill, circ.saw, and recip. saw. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I can cut the osb out of 20+ 3060 windows and still have juice left. I don't use the drill that much, but the saws I use all of the time, and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I have owned or used almost every set on the market, and I love this set.
I also don't find them to heavy to use for extended periods of time. They are a little heavier than an 18v set, but it won't take that long to get used too.
