I need to buy a couple of 12 volt DeWalt batteries. The best deal, I think, is to buy a new tool that includes 2 batteries.
Does anyone have any experience with the DeWalt battery trim guns?

My family gave me one for Christmas last year. While I don't use it everyday because I may be in the shop I have used it for several day at a time and while it's a tad heavy I like it. It came with two 18 volt batteries and I have several others to draw on but have never needed to.
All in all it's not a bad tool and not gas cartriges to worry about.
Hope I helped !

The manual that came with mine says Dewalt makes 4 models that operate on 12 or 14.4 volt batteries (DC612 - DC615), and 4 models that operate on 18 volt batteries (DC616 - DC619). I got the DC614 since all my other Dewalt tools are 14.4 volt. I'm not a pro, and haven't used it all that much yet, but it hasn't jammed once, and changing the depth adjustment is easy.
According to the Dewalt customer service rep I talked to, the performance is identical regardless of battery size. (I think all the battery does is power a flywheel up to speed).
I meant 18 volt, it was a long, wet day yesterday
