Package arrived from ToolKing yesterday, It was my 18 volt right angle drill. Bare tool, looked brand new, So I was quite surprised when I put a battery in it to test it out by drilling a hole in a scrap 2×4 to find that the high speed gear was stripped.
The motor turns, the chuck stays still. Low speed works, and high reverse works. I will be contacting toolking for an exchange. Will let everyone know how this store handles situation. Has anyone had experiences like this?
Thankfully I don’t need this tool urgengently, as I am sure resolution won’t be quick(between e-mails and shipping)
Starting to wish I had just bought it at the home center.

Things happen. I love that tool. I beat the bejesus out of it and it holds out very well.
I do have a few complaints though.
First the direction switch almost requires you keep a nine year old on site with small enough fingers to push the button.
Second the gear switch is exactly where I place my hand to apply extra pressure to the drill. This usually causes the drill to go into neutral with a great grinding of the gears.
If you get over those two issues the thing will give its life for you.

UPDATE: Toolking is now out of stock on these and is sending a shipping label to return defective tool. If they do not have stock on said item when they get this one back, they will credit me. Great. I bought batteries and a charger with a flashlight from another company that are now potentially useless to me if I can't get a bare tool rt angle drill.
Look on E- Bay . Search for Dewalt 18 v cordless.
I've bought a number of bare tools there without any problems.
Heres a link to one I just looked at
