I was ready to buy the Dewalt 14.4v cordless drill until I noticed that the metal chuck had sharp edges that cut into my skin when tightening a bit in the chuck. The homeowner versions of this tool (no black grip) do not have this problem. Has anyone else noticed this? I was convinced that this was the best tool but now I think I’ll buy a PC. It may not be as good, but at least it want cut me. Please comment.

I have the tool that you're talking about--the 14.4 volt model, and mine doesn't have that. Perhaps you got a "bad" one that will someday wind up being a "reconditioned" tool in Harbor Frieght. I've been using Dewalt cordless tools for some years now, and the only problem I've had is those damn plastic boxes they come in. The space was so small for the charger that the cord broke off after a couple months. Fortunately, the place where I bought it replaced it on the spot.
