I’m a ‘hard sell’ for a lot of products, but after living with this for 6 months I have to say it’s fantastic –
Diamon-Fusion – http://www.diamonfusion.com/en/products/improves.html#Anchor-Automotiv-23668
This is a nano-technology coating that goes on the inside of shower doors (adds maybe $150/enclosure) and other glass products. It ‘smooths out’ the microscopically rough glass texture.
Result – incredibly low maintenance on clear glass shower doors. If you keep a small squeegee in the shower you can do the glass in 30 seconds after a shower every other day or so (even if you’re picky) and the glass almost never needs cleaning and best of all, doesn’t water spot. This is especially great if you have hard water. If you just ‘leave it’ alone you can get by with an easy cleaning once a week. You use one of those ‘body puffs’ and just water to clean it, maybe a little soap if you feel like it.
Fantastic idea that really works.

Sounds like a super duper Rain-X or Car wax. I think both work on the same concept of the stuff you describe - smooths out microscopic texture, making water bead up.
I couldn't help but notice that the site seems to be on the defensive about their terminology (nano etc.) which makes me a bit suspicious.
So do you apply the stuff yourself or is it a factory coating? Do they claim you apply it once and then never again?
It's not a liquid product application, it's a factory application chemically attached to the glass utilizing covalent bonding.
