History – Grandfather sat down over a hotdog and schetched a plan on a napkin for his clients. Price was agreed upon and he built the best homes still solidly standing today.
I had the priviledge of working with him as a teen. I loved the work but made a career move in a different direction which is now allowing me to retire early.
I have built my last three homes and loved every minute of it.
I have the contacts, support and financial means to now build craftsman quality homes for others.
I envision building 4 to 6 homes per year 2600 to 2800 sq. ft. not including garage and/or basement space.
What licensing do I need to obtain in NC or who do I call?
My need of clarity is something I heard through a shriveled up grape vine. Something about I only needed a contractors license for that number of homes but needed a General Contractors license to build 30 plus and there were many more requirements.
Didn’t sound right to me but would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks.

always depends where you are... insurance ect... ask the state they hold the keys... but check out the laws yourself... many times the info from the state employee is wrong... at least in my state
