I would like to dig a pond when I build a new home next summer. The pond would be about .5-1 acre overall. Besides the excavator digging the dirt out and putting it somewhere, what do I need to be concerned about? Aeration? General maintainance? This will be in the northern Kentucky region. Thanks for any input.

Some considerations.
The folks in Breaktime would have more experience than me.
Thanks for the input. I know ythere are a lot of considerations.
If it's in flood plain/wetland the permitting process will make you nuts.
With a pond that size, you may also be eligible for some government funding. There are consultants who can help with that.

I think a consultant may be the way to go. Thanks.
