   Some considerations.

   • Is the ground impervious enough to hold water?
   • Will the area of watershed that drains into the pond be large enough with your rainfall to keep the pond level adequate?  The supply rate has to be greater than the leakage and evaporation rate.
   • What kind of access and vegitation would you like around the perimeter?
   • Provision for overflow if you get too much rain.
   • Are environmental permits required?

   The folks in Breaktime would have more experience than me.

   If it's in flood plain/wetland the permitting process will make you nuts.

   With a pond that size, you may also be eligible for some government funding. There are consultants who can help with that.
