New Construction. My wife dislikes ceiling fans, but we would like a great room with a cathedral ceiling. I believe we need to be able to move the air around and out of the house in the summer (no central air) and certainly be able to move the warm air near the ceiling down to the living area in the winter.
Would it be possible or smart to run a duct or two between the rafters in the sloped ceiling? Either use it as a “cold” air return (even if it was carrying warmish air) or just install a separate fan to move floor air to the ceiling on a separate circuit (could be noisy). The cold air return would only be good in winter. Hmm?
Any thoughts on these options?
Any other ideas? Getting a new wife without the proabition to ceiling fans is not an option.
