TV show last weekend “Diy to the rescue” on the diyer channel. They was installing PVC beaddoard strips on a porch ceiling. I thought it look great, so I go to HD to try. At $8.99 a 8 ft strip by 5 inches. It would take over a $1000 in material to try. I guess I,m painting instead.

How much does your alternate material cost? I'm wondering how the PVC truly stacks up when you add back in the materials and labor of the alternative.
What about the GP 4x8 panels faced with either birch (if you want to paint) or "plasticized" finishes I'm not sure what these are are since I have only used the birch, which are about $29 each and look...sorta at least...like beadboard.
