Ok no jokes about pizzin on the campfire please.
I have been told by several people, that in our area a GC or homeowner can install residental firesprinklers. Just cant make the final connections to potable water.
Saw an ad that said firesprinklers add about $1.25 per sq ft of house if done at new construction.
anyone with any experience on that.
thanks

I think this is what you are talking about:
AQUASAFE¯
It is made by Wirsbo. It looks like you could do it yourself. $1.25 sf ? Don't know.
It sure is a lot of fittings. I have never seen it installed.

There are sprinklers in a house I'm working on (new construction), installed by sprinkler fitters. The piping to the sprinkler heads is simple, orange plastic with some calcs done to figure pipe sizing that gives good flow at each head. You could probably do that part. The part that looks hard is the main supply stack. Lots of complex and expensive parts, large pipe, large valves, test connections, etc. Oh... and an underground tank with a pump that kicks on and boosts the pressure if there's any flow. No way it cost $1.25 per foot... I'd have to guess $5 or more.
I'm not sure I'd mess with sprinklers, even if it was legal. Definitely do not tell your insurance company if you do... they'll spank ya'
