A contractor just used drywall mud in a room which is going to have its wood floors refinished. Should I scrape away the mud blobs on the floor before the refinisher sands? Do I need to remove all the mud residue after scraping before sanding–ie., with a wet rag or sponge? Thank you.

Ralph - I always worry about the mud/paint that gets in the cracks between the floor boards. The floor always looks great though after refinishing. If you get the big clumps out as a courtesy to the floor refinisher it would be nice, but you don't need to get too worried, he (or she) will just sand it right up with everything else. - jb
