I am self employed and without employees other than myself. It is my understanding that OSHA does not apply to me. Is this correct?
Assuming the answer to the first question is yes, here is a second question. I was working on my tiny little part of the 1 million dollar Salvation Army chapel/building and I did something stupid with my table saw. I wasn’t casual about it, I was carefull, but it was still stupid. The ceiling guy sees me and says “If OSHA walks in and sees you doing that, you are fined!” I try and explain my status and he insists I would be paying a fine. Would I have been? Does OSHA apply in those circumstances. Why?
Thanks,
Rich Beckman
